Abigail and John - Iceland

When Abigail emailed me about photographing her wedding in Iceland, I remember jumping up off the couch with joy! I love this country so much but had only visited in the winter. I was excited to see a new part of Iceland and experience the lush green colors of summer.

I loved this wedding for a million reasons - the couple, the location, the adventure. But my favorite part was how it all came together. John and Abigail rented a large house on a 700 acre farm with their family.  It was a laid back morning as we watched the weather forecast showing rain, wind and even hail. The sun came out immediately before their ceremony, so everyone bundled up and rushed out of the house into the field to watch the couple say I do. It was a whirlwind!  We took portraits afterwards before the rain began again. Inside, the whole family was rearranging furniture and decor from the home to create the perfect, cozy reception. An Icelandic chef prepared a 4 course meal as the guests shared toasts and stories about the couple.

Thank you Abigail and John for bringing me to Iceland to be a part of your day. It was a trip I will never forget!
